As you are aware pupils, parents, governors and staff expressed a wish to see GPS pupils wear smart “business like” dress which reflects the school ethos and identity. Therefore, as part of our on-going determination to ensure high standards of dress within GPS we are making alterations to our designated uniform.
From September 2012 the following items of uniform must be purchased from our designated suppliers. These will include the following items all in a range of standard sizes:
Blazers and ties (as previously supplied)
Girl’s skirts – choice of two styles
Girl’s trousers – choice of two styles
Boy’s trousers – choice of three styles
All items are of the highest quality and are priced very competitively.
Please note that following feedback from a small number of parents we have introduced an additional pair of smart trousers for boys. These are now available from school and are priced at $9.95.
All uniform items can be viewed through this website on the News and Information page although all items of clothing are to be purchased directly from school at this time.
Updated uniform order forms are also available through this site as is a copy of GPS Uniform policy, as approved by the Governing Body.
All documentation is also available from school reception.
At GPS we are committed to providing value for money for parents and our new designated uniform will ensure the expense of uniform is limited. Should you wish to apply for funding support towards the cost of uniform if you have a household income of less than $17,500 or your son / daughter is eligible for free school meals there is a grant for financial assistance that can help pay towards the cost of uniform items. An application form for this grant is available from Main Reception.

Please remember that from September year 7 – 11 girls may not wear short or tight fitting skirts. The new uniform policy will ensure that all pupils are dressed with decency in a formal setting. We will put sanctions in place in school for girls who are not appropriately dressed in Longfield uniform.
School will be open for the purchase of school uniform every Wednesday during the school holidays between 10am and 4pm for parents to order and collect uniform. It is imperative that pupils take this opportunity to try on the new items of uniform so that correct sizes are ordered. Please return completed order forms to main reception.
Should you have any queries regarding this letter please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Clifton, Deputy Headteacher.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and hope that you and your family have a happy holiday.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs S Johnson BA (Hons) NPQH
